Waxing

The Relaxation Rooms is a day spa in the centre of Guildford offering professional beauty treatments including waxing. We offer both hot waxing and warm strip waxing and have professionally trained staff who specialise in both types of waxing. For your convenience, we are open until 8.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and there is free parking behind the building.
If your skin is particularly sensitive then we recommend that you have a consultation with a therapist prior to treatment. |

Hot waxing

Normally used for Brazilian and Hollywood waxes:
Hot waxing has been around for many years and is particularly good for more sensitive areas or for clients with more sensitive skin. It contains natural beeswax and melts to a thicker consistency than warm wax. The wax is applied to the skin with a spatula, as it cools it becomes firmer contracting around the hair. It is then pulled off the skin with a fast movement and the hair removed from the root. Hot waxing is a slower process than warm waxing and is much better for strong coarse hair and shorter hairs. It is usually used for Brazilian and hollywood waxing but can also be used on bikini lines and under arms (see below for more on waxing options).

Warm waxing
|
Normally used for legs, arms, bikini, lip, chin and eyebrows:
Warm waxing is the most popular method having the ability to remove hairs quickly and efficiently. It can be used on larger areas and is suitable for most hair types. The warm wax is applied to the skin in a very thin layer using a spatula. A fabric or paper strip is then pressed on the waxed area and removed quickly causing minimum discomfort. Sometimes slight reddening may appear to the skin afterwards but this is completely normal and will fade in a few hours.

The therapist will provide after care advice at the end of the waxing treatment. Always ensure that you follow this advice as it can cause a reaction to the waxing if not.
